What Are We Looking For?
"A SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR A DYSTOPIAN UTOPIA" Creative & Critical Collection
A (satirical) commentary collection on the state of society, interpersonal communication, post-capitalism, mental health, and over-consumption.
- Creative Nonfiction: Memoirs, Memorandums, Narrative Fiction, Reflection, Reviews, Creative Journalism, Tips & Tricks, Recipes, How-Tos, the who's who of the apocalypse-- etc.
- Literature Reviews: On the wealth of literary critique of Utopian/Dystopian societies; through any critical lenses that are relevant to modern concerns. Think Woolf, Atwood, Orwell, Huxley, Kafka, Bradbury, etc.
- Poetic Prose: We are looking for more long form content, but if you have something powerful to add to the conversation, we want to hear it.
- Experimental Work: Anything you think deserves to be considered under the umbrella of the theme.

Guidelines:
Minimum 100 Word Micro-Fiction to Maximum 10,000 word stories.
- All work must be original and previously unpublished.
- Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please notify us immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.
- Multiple submissions are allowed, but each must be submitted separately.
- Work submitted must fit the theme of the anthology to be chosen for publication. If you wish to submit something to us that does not fit the requirements for this collection, please see our General Submissions. We specifically prefer creative nonfiction essays for this anthology, but we are open to hybrid genre submissions.
- Please format stories in Times New Roman, 12 Point Font, single-spaced documents.
How to Submit:
- Include a brief third-person bio (max 100 words) with your submission.
- Include a cover letter with how your work fits the theme of the collection.
Contest!
The winner of the contest will receive a complimentary copy of the book and personal marketing for their professional writing medias during the promotional period for the book release. Two Runner-Ups will be featured as part of the promotional materials for the book release.
Rights: The Words Faire seeks first publication rights and the right to archive the collection digitally. All rights revert to the author/artist after publication.
